Travel Dance Inc. Policies

 

Our company is based on integrity. We are here to edify each dancer and instill confidence, discipline, strong positive character, high self-esteem, leadership skills and a great appreciation for arts

 

ATTENDANCE:

 

1. It is recommended that students arrive early in order to get a drink, go to the bathroom, get warmed up and be dressed properly.

2. When you arrive for practice report to designated area & begin stretching.

3. Come to practice determined to learn, and to observe. If you must leave early, notify instructor prior to class.

4. Every scheduled class and rehearsal must be attended on time. If student shows up 15  

minutes after class, student will have to be invited into class by instructor.

5. All rehearsals prior to show will be MANDATORY; will only be excused if proper documents are showed (i.e. doctor’s note, letter, etc.). Regular attendance is necessary to maximize the full benefit of dance instruction for every student in class. We encourage parents/guardians to stress the importance of attending class and rehearsals.

Students on a scholarship are allowed one unexcused absence.

6. It is the dancer’s responsibility to manage their time so that dance, church activities, church, schoolwork, sports and other outside activities do not conflict. Please provide your schedules to be help avoid scheduling conflicts

7. Any student that misses 3 consecutive practices / arrives late for 3 consecutive practices / leaves early for the same may be required to forfeit their position / row / rank

 

 

CLASS CANCELLATIONS:

If Travel Dance Inc. must cancel classes due to extreme weather or events beyond its control, the cancelled classes will be made up before the end of the year. Travel Dance Inc. follows its own holiday schedule. Closure dates will be posted on website and all social media accounts including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter page and via text message. An email will

also be sent out to all parents/guardians.

 

CONDUCT:

1. Always come with a ready and positive spirit. Be respectful to EVERYONE staff members, parents and peers. Always put forth maximum effort. The use of profanity, alcoholic beverages, any use of illegal substances and disrespect in any form to staff members will result in termination from Travel Dance.

2. You are required to have a positive reputation within the community, school, church, home & other social events & social networks.

3. You are also required & subject to monitoring that your Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Kick & all social network channels are clean & represent a positive reputation for you, your parents, family, school & Travel Dance Inc. We do not tolerate online drama, hazing, cyber bullying to anyone in or outside our school. You should not post, repost or send any inappropriate pictures, videos, statuses or comments. What you post can be seen by anyone, respect yourself and this team.

4. All dancers must maintain a 2.0 Grade Point Average (GPA).

 

CLASS ETIQUETTE:

  1. Be respectful to yourself and others.  Always listen and follow directions. Never disrespect the dance instructor(s) or any one that is giving instructions. Disrespect will be handled with warning, written warning, probation & suspension on a case by case basis. Please communicate with your dancer that ignoring an adult or instructor, walking away while an adult / instructor is talking / rolling the eyes/ mumbling etc. is considered disrespectful & will be handled accordingly.

  2. As an older dancer, role model or veteran, inappropriate conversations or negative discussions are not allowed in front of younger dancers.

  3. Memorization of dances and songs are a MUST

 

   4. Question …Ask… there is never a stupid or dumb question.

   5.If any step or warm-up is painful or you feel discomfort, alert an instructor immediately.

   6.Receive permission from instructor before leaving class.

   7. No hanging on bars.

   8. No food, drink, or chewing gum in class.

   9. Keep a positive attitude.

  10. No talking, running or horseplay will be acceptable during class.

  11. No hands on hips or crossing arms during class or when instructor is teaching.

  12.Students who do not adhere to this request may be asked to sit out of class.

  13. Have fun!!

 

 

HAIR POLICY:

All students should have hair securely pulled back away from face and neck during class.

****STUDENTS MUST BE DRESSED IN PROPER ATTIRE IN ORDER TO TAKE CLASS

•           We require that all dancers wear cover-ups when coming to and going from building. If T-shirts are worn as a cover-up, they should be    worn with pants, shorts, or a skirt.

•           Leotards should be plain and solid in color- without prints or designs.

•           Watches, bracelets, necklaces and dangly earrings may not be worn to class

•           Sport bras will be enforced!

 

PRICING:

Tuition fee is $70.00 a month. There will be a one-time registration fee of $60.00 (which includes attire).

If you enroll 2 dancers or more, you get $20 off each dancer.

Ex: $160.00-$40.00= $120/month - $20.00 off each dancer

 

PAYMENT SCHEDULE:

Payment of $70.00 will be due the first week of every month. There will be a one-time registration fee of $60.00 which includes rehearsal attire.  All late payments will incur a $25.00 late fee. Refund requests can only be honored after the second session.

**All payments will be accepted in the form of money order, cash and credit card payments online. No Checks will be accepted.

 •Accounts must be current and all fees paid before students may receive costumes or participate in performances.

•A signed registration form must be filled in its entirety at beginning of each year to ensure databases are up-to-date and to ensure each account holder is aware of his/her financial obligation.

 

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE:

 We suggest that students arrive 10-15 minutes early to prepare for class. All students should wait quietly for their class to begin. The restroom should be used before class, not during class. (Parents, please help with this.) After class, students must wait in the lobby area to be picked up by their parent/guardian. Every child under 18 years of age should be signed in and out of class. Proper identification will be required to be shown during every pick up.  Parents will have 15 minutes to pick up child after class. If you are not able to pick up child on time please notify Ms. Rachel Brutus 786-877-9271.

 

PERFORMANCE:

Travel Dance Inc. offers many performance opportunities throughout the year; including showcases and local community event performances. Attending classes and rehearsals is crucial for performance participation.

  1.  ALL dancers MUST show up to performances and/or meeting spots in TDC T-SHIRT, JEANS, & SNEAKERS.

  2. Dancers must have a garment bag with all costumes steamed and on a hanger.

  3. Dance bags should have: 2 bottles of water, leotard, 2 pairs of tights, Dance T-shirt, cover-up, black (or dark colored) socks, deodorant, lotion, wipes, safety pins, hair pins, hand sanitizer and makeup bag.

  4. Dancers should never leave a performance without being dismissed by instructor.

 

HEALTH, INJURY & HYGIENE POLICIES:

Illness Policy: If your child is ill, please do not bring them to Travel Dance Inc. If your child has had a fever, vomiting or diarrhea in the past 24 hours, please do not attend class.

Injury Policy: In the event of a minor injury (fall, scrape or strain) the faculty will apply ice, elevate, and if necessary contact the parent or the emergency contact person(s). In the event of a medical emergency, Travel Dance will call 911, and will attempt to reach the parent, or the emergency contact person(s).

Hygiene Policy: Always have CONTROL over your personal hygiene!!!!!Students are required to carry wipes, deodorant, towel and all necessary personal care items.
